He retired as a Major at March AFB, California in 1974 and has since resided in Riverside where he was a manager at Denny's and several local hardware stores. He was an avid golfer, gardener, carpenter and little league coach. He was active in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Riverside where he served as a parish council member and lector. Ed is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 58 years, his sister, Kay Barto of Detroit Michigan; children Jim, Linda, Joanne, Bonnie Collins, Tim, Patty Hinojos and Lorne, 12 grand children; Danny and Naomi Brown, Kevin Carter, Julie Stefanik, Mary Harasyn, Christina, Travis and Nick Carter, Michael and Melissa Hinojos, and Lorne and Matt Carter, 4 great grand children; Danny, Dylan, Dakota and Devon Brown.
