PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Jo Ann Hayden, 76, of Perryville died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Perryville, daughter of William and Irene Buehler Lurk. She and Donald Hayden were married July 20, 1956. He died Nov. 13, 1997.
Hayden was a school teacher at Sereno, Mo., before retiring. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Hayden was the first homecoming queen at St. Vincent High School in Perryville.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Unterreiner of Perryville; two sons, Jeff Hayden of Corinth, Texas, Tim Hayden of Ennis, Texas; two sisters, Jean Warnecke and Margaret Meyer of Perryville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 today. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Perryville.
