Janet Alyene Priest, 50, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, in Evansville, Ind., following a long battle with cancer.
She was born July 22, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Clarence and Stella Miller Headrick. She and Charlie Priest were married in 1976 in Cape Girardeau.

Janet was a seamstress 15 years at Bohannon's in Scott City. She also worked at Rhodes many years before working at Lowes in Cape Girardeau and Marion, Ill.

Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Day of Cape Girardeau, Chrissy (Chris) Elliott of Jackson; two grandchildren, Noah and Nadia Day; a sister, Mary Golden of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Jimmy and Bill Headrick of Cape Girardeau; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 21 at Klaus Park Shelter 31.
