He was born September 27, 1917, in Zell, the son of Andrew and Philomena (Grass) Flieg.
He married Wilma Kreitler on June 3, 1941 and she preceded him in death.
He later married Evelyn Hauck on August 10, 1991, in Farmington and she survives.
Also, surviving is one daughter, Eleanor Gegg of Fenton; three sons: Arthur Flieg of Sainte Genevieve and Norbert Flieg of Beebe, AR, and Mark Flieg of Saint Mary; one brother, Aloysius Flieg of Sainte Genevieve; and two sisters, Lorene Gegg and Rosemary Krietler, both of Sainte Genevieve.
Stepchildren surviving include Charles Hauck of Glendale, Arkansas, Sally Wisdom of Park Hills, Kathe Ramsey of Perryville, Cynthia Allgier of Desloge, and Bonita Freeman of Farmington.
Also, surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, three-step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, one son, one sister, and three brothers.
He was a member of the Western Catholic Union and St. Joseph's Men Sodality.
He worked at Mississippi Lime for 41 years.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 24th at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.
A funeral service for 88-year-old Henry Flieg will be held at the St. Joseph Church in Zell Saturday, February 25th at 10 a.m. The Rev. James Henson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School or Church or to Western Catholic Union.
