Ella T. Barker
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Ella Taylor Barker, 89, of 246 Dumont Drive, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born May 14, 1911, in Henry County, Va., a daughter of William T. "Bud" Overton and Florence Overton Taylor, both deceased.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Barker Sr.
She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Church of God.
Surviving are her son, William H. Barker Jr. of Kernersville; one brother, Clay Taylor of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Elma Kent of Danville, Va.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Parkview Church of God by the Rev. Bobby Dishman. A graveside service will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Va.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.
