A funeral will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 for 87-year-old Margaret M. "Margy" Meyer of Perryville, who died January 4, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 23, 1924 in Perryville, daughter of William and Irene (Buehler) Lurk.
She married Herbert W. Meyer on October 18, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1982.
She is survived by two sons: Joseph (Sue) Meyer of Fairfax, Virginia and John (Kathy) Meyer of St. Louis; five daughters: Ann Warren and Jane (Delmar) Besand, Marsha (Gary) Moll, Jean Ellen (David) Clements and Cari (Kirk) Buehler all of Perryville; a sister: Jean Warnecke of Perryville; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister; JoAnn Hayden
She had worked at Perry County Court House.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Vincent Alumni.
She enjoyed quilting, knitting and was an avid bridge player.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 and 6:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and the rosary at 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
A funeral mass for Margaret M. "Margy" Meyer of Perryville will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Ryan C.M. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred for St. Vincent School or American Heart Association.
