Paul R. Allison, age 86, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
Paul had the gifts of hospitality, compassion, wisdom, teaching, giving and service. He aspired to use these gifts to the fullest measure to bless others. Paul enjoyed a variety of travels and adventures, including many family fishing trips. He loved to prepare Sunday dinners for the whole family. Paul graduated with honors from Roosevelt High School in 1947 and from Univ. of Dayton in 1951 near the top of his class. He began his first career at Delco Moraine as an engineer in 1951 and retired from there in 1992. He then began his second career at H&R Block where he served until 2014 as a Master Tax Advisor. He also served at Emmanuel Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher and deacon for over 40 years.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Anita (Jim) Brabson; sons Mark (Barb) Allison, David (Beverly) Allison and John (Lanette) Allison; grandchildren, James (Bonnie) Brabson, Daniel (Melinda) Brabson, Elisabeth (Pete) Rew, Kathleen (Andrew) Mosier, Jackie Allison, Carrie (Ivan) Kabanov, Lindsay (Aboubakr) Allison and Laura Allison. Paul was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and survived by three brothers, Charles (Ivalene) Allison, Harley (Marie) Allison and Bob (Barbara) Allison.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorraine Allison in 2003; parents, Charles & Firm (Hix) Allison; sister, Elaine Parrett and brothers, Clarence Allison, Ralph Allison, Gaynard Allison and Roger Allison.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 9-11:30 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church (1501 E. Third St., Dayton, OH 45403). The service will follow at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
