Lieutenant John A. Crisci joined the New York City Fire Department on November 5‚ 1977. With a 24-year career‚ he worked in many engine and truck companies throughout the city. His latest service was for the Hazardous Materials Co. 1 located in Maspeth‚ Queens. This unit is a citywide response team specializing in hazardous‚ biochemical and terrorist incidents in the City of New York.
Lt. Crisci's career also included being a Fire Marshal and teaching at the 'Rock.' He received the Chief John J. McElligott Medal in 1989 for the rescue of a little girl in a tenement building in Harlem.
Not only was he a dedicated firefighter but also a great dad to his three sons. His wife and family will never forget John's heroism.
His final resting place was at Calvary Cemetery,Woodside(Queens County)New York.
