Funeral services for Guy Brown, 64, of Winona were held Sunday, June 9, 1985, at 4:30 p.m. at Oliver Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Jerry Mixon directed services and burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

The Montgomery County native died Saturday, June 8, at his residence in Winona after a brief illness.

A member of First Baptist Church, Brown was a member and former teacher in Sunday School. He had also been active in Cub Scouting in Winona and Drew and had served on the Winona Selective Service Board. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Brown had owned and operated Brown's Jewelry Store in Winona and worked as a real estate developer. In addition, he had owned a jewelry store in Drew and was owner of Lynbar Jewelers in Greenwood, where he maintained a home at the time of his death. He had been a certified jeweler for 39 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vertie Tedford Brown of Winona; two daughters, Mrs. Marietta Brown Branch of Winona and Mrs. Lanelle Brown Tollison of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Maria Van Landingham and Miss Lucille Brown, both of Jackson and Mrs. Lura Lee Black of Morton; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bilbo Brown, Willie Stavely, Curtis Turner, Randolph Black, Tommy Van Landingham and Buddy Mabus.

Honorary pallbearers were Milton Bright, Dr. B. A. Sims, Ed Hammond, Jim Russell, Sidney Junov, M.W. Edmonds, Aubrey Boone and Morris Doler.

Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
