James Franklin "Jeff" Malone, Jr. was
the son of Jimmie Fay Tedford Malone
and James Franklin "Uncle Jim"
Malone, Sr. Jeff was a brother to
Martha Jane Malone Hooten.
Due to an extremely hard delivery,
Jeff was left with slight disabilities
which he worked very hard to overcome
throughout his life. His mother
worked tirelessly with him on his
school work, and they both devoted
many hours to this task. As a
result of this, Jeff went on to
graduate from Delta State College and,
he became a teacher.
Jeff was much loved by everyone in his
small town and was even more loved by
his cousins who spent most of every
summer in Darling. One might say that
Jeff was a perfect example of "It takes
a village to raise a child" because
everyone looked out for Jeff and cared
for his welfare. He had a very gentle
disposition, and he dearly loved all
his relatives. He had a special love
for Martha Jane and always called her
"Sister". Jeff was the one who began
calling our grandmother (Cora Etta
Tedford) by her nickname, BoBo.
Jeff died young as a result of a car
accident, and he is truly missed by all
those who knew and loved him.
