Opal Chaffin Garren, 92, of Campbell died Dec. 19, 2006, in Mesquite. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Prairie Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Valley Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville.
Mrs. Garren was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Campbell to Marvin Isaac and Maude King Chaffin. She was a retired school teacher; and she was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, County Extension Service, YMCA and Senior Citizens Club.
Mrs. Garren was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors are her two daughters, Donna Lassen and husband Donald of Plano and Lynda Featherston and husband Mike of Campbell; two brothers, Marvin "Humpy" Chaffin and J.B. Chaffin of Campbell; and three grandchildren, Jerrett Featherston and Tandy Hagar of Campbell and Jennifer Albright of Calgary, Canada.
Her brother, Felt Chaffin, and a sister, Olene Moore, preceded her in death.
