Melchiorre Marrazzo was born on October 1, 1840 in Pagani, Italy, the son of Maria Antonia Marrazzo and an unknown man. On December 31, 1865, he married Catterina Califano. They had at least five children, Aniello Marrazzo, Maria Antonia Marrazzo, Francesco Marrazzo, Onofrio "Charles" Marazzo, and Salvatore Marrazzo. Melchiorre arrived in New York City on May 8, 1905, after sailing on the Città di Napoli. He moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario, and died in 1912. He is buried under the name "Marchionno Marazzo."
