Anna Mae Rogers Stone, 75 years, 2 months and 2 days of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully at home in her bed in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, August 18th, 2001 following a long battle with emphysema.


Anna Mae was born on Wednesday, June 16th, 1926 in Berea, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Bart and Lavada Thompson Rogers. Anna Mae was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. she was a member of the Somerset Eastern Star Chapter No#23. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, watching hummingbirds, yard sales, flea markets, auctions, visiting with family and friends, but most of all she loved Christmas, going to the stores, decorating the tree and singing Christmas songs ♪♫•*¨*•.¸ ♥¸.•*¨*•♫♪. She always had a smile on her face. She is deeply missed by all who knew her and leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourns her passing and miss her dearly.

Anna Mae was survived by her husband, Herbert McKennley Stone; one son, Joseph McKennley (and wife, Vickie) Stone; one brother, Franklin Delaine "Frank" (and wife, Martha) Rogers; four grandchildren, Adam McKennley Stone, Brian Stout, Jennifer Stout, and Steven Stout. All were present during her passing along with Adam's mother, Cindy Jan Stone, Vickie's mother, Sarah Ann McClung and Sarah's sister, Peggie Ellis.


She was preceded in dearh by her parents, William Bart Rogers, who departed this life on March 31st, 1948 and Lavada Thompson Rogers, who departed this life on December 28th, 1937; an infant son, William Delaine Stone, who departed this life on January 14th, 1947; three brothers, Preston Rogers, who departed this life on September 20th, 1928, George Dramon Rogers, who departed this life on January 5th, 1938, and William "Raymond" Rogers, who departed this life on December 3rd, 1987; and a twin brother, Addie May Rogers, who died in infancy on June 16th, 1926.


Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20th, 2001 at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky with Eastern Star services being observed by the Somerset Chapter No#23 O.E.S.


Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21st, 2001 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.


Burial followed in the Tanner Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
