Gene was a self-made man, a man of many talents, and, blessed by the Lord, he could do most anything to which he put his hand. He served our country in WWII in the Merchant Marines. He built houses, mobile home parks, and the Fiesta House Restaurant and Fun Center, which was on Eastland Parkway in Lexington, in the 1960's. He built the Fiesta House because he wanted young people to have a safe place to go to have fun. He was a very creative person, being a master craftsman at building scale models of ships and bridges, drawing up his own plans.
He was very fun-loving and generous, and never met a stranger. He was a Christian, and led many people to Jesus in his young-to-middle adulthood. He passed away from complications of diabetes at the age of seventy-nine, and thus, went to be with the Lord forever.
John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in NO wise cast out."
