Joe E. Brading, age 71 of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his Charleston Rehab and Health Care Center home. In honoring Joe's wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services. It is requested that memorials in his honor be made to Lincolnland Hospice and gifts may be mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Joe was born November 12, 1938 in Charleston a son of the late Ora and Opal (Adkins) Brading. He married Karen Pollard on December 30, 1961 in Charleston and they have shared forty-eight years of marriage. In addition to Karen he leaves two children, Joe M. Brading and Jan Russell and her husband Blake; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Russell and Maryn Russell; a sister, Joyce Brading; three brothers-in-law, Robert Heath, Thomas Pollard, Chris Pollard and wife Teri; several nieces and nephews; and very special and dear friends, Don and Florence Oakley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaime Paige Brading; a sister, Barbara Heath; a brother, Harold Brown; and a sister-in-law, Dianna Strainic. Joe was a United States Navy Veteran and was employed for many years by Ameren CIPS as a gas utility foreman. He was a marathon runner but also enjoyed spending time traveling the open road aboard his motorcycle. Fellow shipping with his coffee shop buddies was a daily event and often the highlight of his day. Joe was a man who possessed Christian values and he enjoyed the adoration that his grandchildren lavished upon him.
