Karen Sue (Pollard) Brading, a lifelong resident of Charleston, left the tender, loving care of her best friends and family on Monday, July 25, 2011. Happily, she now joins hands with her Savior for everlasting life. Indeed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Karen was born July 26, 1942 in Charleston, the first of four children of the late Frank and Mary (Pearcy) Pollard. Married on December 30, 1961, she and husband Joe E. Brading raised two adoring children, Joe M. and Jan. Karen furthers her legacy by her loving grandchildren, Nate and Maryn (Sissy). Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Joe and her daughter, Jan Russell and her husband Blake, along with their children Nate and Maryn. She leaves a brother, Thomas, his son Jason and Jason's mother, Toni Trumper; a brother Chris, his wife Teri and their children, Jayde, Amber and Jared. She leaves Dianna's loving children; Anna, Chuck, Lynne and Allison; five great nieces and nephews; and a large extended family from the Pollard, Pearcy and Brading families. Also left to cherish her memory are Karen's best friends, Don and Florence Oakley, who cared for her deeply and shared her faith. In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Jaime Paige, and Karen's soul mate sister, Dianna Lynne (Deanie). The family wishes to recognize the truly loving care and compassion of Lincolnland Hospice nurse, Kay Wheeler. Kay's tender care and devotion provided much comfort to Karen and her family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lincolnland Hospice. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning, July 30, 2011 from 9:30 - 10:30 at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive in Charleston. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the Visitation led by Karen's dear friend and pastor, Reverend Curt Weaver. You fought a valiant fight, Sissy. Well done, thy good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:21. Karen's memorial website is available at www.adamsfuneralchapel.com..
