Robert E Lukens, 84, of Upper Arlington, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. Bob was born in Piqua, OH on June 18, 1920. After graduating from Piqua Central High School, he attended Bluffton College before serving in the U.S. Navy as a radio technician stationed in Guam in WWII. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University (1951). Retired after 31 years of service in design work in May, 1997 from The Ohio Department of Transportation. Prior to that, he was a senior design engineer at North American Aviation. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Edith (Walter) Lukens and his brothers Edwin and Billy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jenny; son, Edwin of Upper Arlington; as well nieces and nephews. Faithful member of Mountview Baptist Church since 1968, where he enjoyed signing in the choir, attending Bible Study and serving on various boards. Member of Sawmill Athletic Club, where he and Jenny worked out together afternoons. Bob enjoyed computers, gardening, ham radio, reading, woodworking and OSU sports.
