Jack was the oldest of three children born to Harry Raymond and Lucetta Carol (Rainey Brooke.

September 19, 1916

Little Jack Brooke, the six-year-old son of H. R. Brooke, who is in the employ of the Gulf Pipe Line Company at Powderly, met with a fatal accident at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at his home. While he was playing in the yard with some other children he stumbled and fell, striking the back of his head against some object on the ground. The blow produced hemorrhage of the brain and death resulted in two hours. The father of the child came here from Illinois five or six years ago and has been employed with the Pipe Line company ever since. He is related to Mrs. H. A. Clement and the funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clement on East Houston Street, conducted by Rev. W. B. Kendall.
