Funeral services were held Thursday morning in the Brush Creek Baptist Church for Mrs. Lou Ann Akin, who died Tuesday, June 3 [1947] at the age of 80. Burial was in the Perkins Cemetery. Mrs. Akin, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. J.H. Perkins is survived by her husband, Moses Akin, to whom she was married in 1890; a daughter, Mrs. Ezra Elmore, Taylor County, 2 sons, R.E. Akin, Taylor County, and F.T. Akin, Louisville; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Akin united with the Brush Creek Baptist Church when she was young and remained a member there until her death.
