At Nekoosa
Richard L. Burnett, 717 Market
street, Nekoosa, received chest, neck
and shoulder injuries early this
morning in an accident at the Ne-
koosa-Edwards Paper company mill
at Nekoosa.
Burnett was underneath a reel of
paper when it jumped out of its
bearing. The full extent of his in-
juries was not known up to noon to-
day.
He was taken to Riverview hos-
pital at 5:50 this morning after re-
ceiving first aid treatment at the
mill.

early Friday morning in an accident
at the Nekoosa-Edwards Paper com-
pany mill at Nekoosa, died at 4
o'clock Friday afternoon at River-
view hospital.
Burnett was underneath a reel of
paper when it jumped out of its
bearing, causing severe body bruises,
several crushed ribs, a collapsed
lung and other internal injuries.
Funeral services will be held at
2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the
Nekoosa Congregational church with
the Rev. C. A. O'Neill officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside cemetery,
Nekoosa.
He was born February 11, 1921, in
Hancock, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Burnett, and lived in Ne-
koosa the last 14 years. On October
25, 1941, he married Betty Jane
Salter there.
Survivors besides his wife and
parents, the latter of Vesper, include
a daughter, Roberta Carolyn; two
brothers, Robert, Vesper, and Otis,
Nekoosa, and five sisters, Mrs. Pearl
Steinert, Mrs. Margaret Kuhn and
Mrs. Mildred Blystone, all of Ne-
koosa; Mrs. Hazel Jaecks, Wisconsin
Rapids, and Eleanor, Vesper.
He was a member of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars at Nekoosa and a
veteran of World war II. Military
rites will be conducted at the grave.
The body will be taken to his home
Monday noon. Krohn and Berard is
in charge of arrangements.
