Hermine "Sue" Bleyl, age 101, was born in Keyport, New Jersey, to Carl and Hermine Bleyl. Sue moved to Houston in 1911 with her family who had migrated from Germany in 1899. She lived in Houston for 99 years until her death. She retired in 1977 after 35 years of service as a Harris County Deputy Court Clerk.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and nephews, Wallace Bleyl and Donnie Bleyl. She is survived by nephew, Robert Bleyl and three generations of great nieces and nephews. Also left behind are numerous friends at the Hampton at Spring Shadows.
Service is on Monday, June 21, 2010 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Donations in memory of Sue can be made to the Houston SPCA.
