Dorothy Odell Smith Livingston, 87, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, with family members by her side. She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Brookhaven, Miss., and had been a longtime resident of Zachary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Smith and Cordy Smith; husband, Robert Thomas Livingston; two sons, Robert Lynn Livingston and William Thomas Livingston; and brother, Hugh Smith.

She is survived by three sisters, Theda Ray Kirkland and Nancy Boswell, both of McCall Creek, Miss., and Maxine Pritchard, of Natchez, Miss.; daughter, Susan Dianne Sansone and her husband, Daniel Jude Sansone, of Zachary; son, James Ray Livingston and his wife, Cheryl Rusk Livingston, of Zachary; two daughters-in-law, Lynn Pickett Livingston, of Torbert, and Cherie Spillman Livingston, of Baton Rouge; 15 grandchildren, Ricky Livingston, Julie Livingston Cutrer, Jason Livingston, Susan Renee Anderson, Rhonda Sansone Smith, Randy Sansone, Ryan Sansone, Brandi Livingston Small, Jennifer Livingston Croxton, Laura Livingston, Benjamin Livingston, RuthAnn Dixon Martin, Shawnarie Lundy, Rory Livingston and Jonathan Livingston; 12 great-grandchildren, Kristin, Danielle, Kayla, Maverick, Sarah, Cameron, Colton, Zane, Baleigh, Isabella, Haleigh-Marie and Gabrielle; and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the country by motor home. Many individuals remember her for her cooking ability, especially her biscuits and gravy. Special thanks to Lakeview Home Health and Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
