Oregon Governor. Served several terms as an Oregon State Senator, from 1895 - 1899 and 1918 - 1922. Collector of Customs for both President McKinley and President Theodore Roosevelt between 1898 - 1906. Republican Governor of Oregon from 1926 until his death in 1929 from Pneumonia.
