Christopher Lee Dewey was born on February 9, 1983 at the Cambridge Hospital. Chris was the oldest of five brothers, whom they looked up to as their hero, as well as two step-sisters. He had a superb educational career attending Cambridge-Isanti High School, where football became his favorite sport. He assisted in winning the Minnesota State Football Championship in class 4A during his senior year in high school. Chris then attended the Law Enforcement Training Program in Hibbing, MN for the next two years, continuing to play football for the Cardinals there. Throughout high school and college, Chris was employed as a cook for The Creamery Café in Isanti, and The Old Howard in Hibbing, as well as installing and repairing sprinkler systems. Following graduation, Chris applied for many law enforcement positions around the state, and was hired by the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office in 2004. For as long as he was a deputy, Chris was a member of both the Twin Lakes and later the Waubun volunteer firefighter departments; a position he gained much gratification from.

Chris married his high-school sweetheart of six years, Emily (Boulden), on March 23, 2007 at the Mahnomen County Courthouse. They enjoyed spending time outdoors, including: fishing, camping, target shooting, and canoeing. Chris was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; killing four deer the last season before he was shot. Chris was also a devoted family man; always eager to help those in need, and was looking forward to starting a family.

Those who knew Chris appreciated his sense of humor, and true love of life. His kindness and generosity were second to none.

Chris will be dearly missed by many friends and family, including his wife Emily, mother Poppe, step-father Keith, Father Mark, step-mother Jennifer, brothers Daniel, Philip, Henry, Douglas, and sisters Sara, and Hana, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Chris will be joined in Heaven by his Grandfather Byron, and infant sister Tracy Marie.
