SSgt. Guy E. Shelley Jr., 26, of New Cumberland, PA. SSgt Shelley and eight other airmen were lost in April of 1943 when their B-24D Liberator, named ‘Lady Be Good', went down about 400 miles south of the Mediterranean in the Libyan Desert. It wasn't until February 1959 that the ‘Lady Be Good' and some of her crew were found. The search continued through 1960 when all but one of the bodies were recovered.
