Edward Brown Clark, who died at his home in Circleville, Thursday afternoon December 27th, in his 80th year, was the oldest son of Col. William Clark, and was born in Ross County where the village of Clarksburg is now located, June 21, 1809. The deceased, in his early days and for years_____________engaged in mercha__________Chilicothe and Circleville. In January, 1833, he was married in Chillicothe, to Elizabeth Thompson, youngest daughter of Benjamin Thompson the builder of the old Capitol at Columbus. They had nine children, rearing all of them to maturity, six now living, viz: Edward B. Clark, of Indianapolis, IN; W. Scott Clark, of Chillicothe, Sheriff of Ross County; Ben T. Clark, of Chicago; Mrs Hester A. Myers and Misses Lizzie V. and Louisa M. Clark, of this city. Besides their own children, they had the care and rearing of fifteen grandchildren.

On the 31st of January, 1883, they celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marraige, when neighbors and friends remembered them with tokens of regard. In 1845, they removed from Chillicothe to this city, ever since residing here.

Mrs. Clark died April 10, 1884. Mr. Clark has been failing very rapidly the past year, but was confined to his bed less than two weeks. The funeral took place from the residence, Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock with the Rev. J. P. Straten conducting the services.
