WILLIAM S. CHASE,
The aged man who was struck in the yard at Ninth street yesterday morning, died last night at 10:45 o'clock, at the hospital. He never regained consciousness from the time of the accident. Had Mr. Chase been a younger man it is possible that he might have recovered, but being a man of 65 years, he could not withstand the shock. Deceased is survived by his wife and these children: Mrs. Laura B. Eckells, McKeesport; John, William, May and Roy, of Altoona. Deceased was born in Fulton county, December 11, 1831. He came to Altoona in 1878, and has worked for the railroad company ever since. He was a member of Post 468, G.A.R., and also of the Red Men.
