At the time of her death in 1935 Vivian Chase was the number 1 ranking female criminal in the United States according to the FBI. It's uncertain as to where she was born; however, at the age of 19 in 1920 she married George M. Chase a thief and bootlegger. By 1925 she was associating with Lee Flournoy and George Mayes and participated in the Cherryvale KS bank robbery in May 1926. Months later she participated in a gun battle in Picher OK where Flournoy and Mays were killed. Her most notable crime was the kidnapping of August Luer in 1933. She was shot to death by an associate after a drunken quarrel on Nov 3, 1935.
