He has finished the Catholic school "Santa Maria", Sofia, Bulgaria and knew fluently German, French and Italian languages. He has finished also the Naval School in the town of Varna, Bulgaria. He sailed the seas and was seldom sending letters to his relatives from various parts of the World.

Just searching to find out more - he was a resistance fighter - Uniform at the photo was from Bulgarian Army - he was searched by the Gestapo in 1937 and 1939...

Datum der Auftragung: 8. Dezember 1937, Sachverhalt: ist aufgrund des Fernschreibens der Staatspolizei Oppeln Nr. 21801 vom 7. Dezember 1837-II A 9090/37/1857) zur Aufenthaltsermittlung aufgegeben; 16. Jänner 1939: Die Fahndung ist erledigt.
Der Name erscheint in einem Auszug aus den Akten der Geheimen Staatspolizei Düsseldorf mit dem Vermerk: Am 7. Februar 1939 aus unbekannten Gründen zur Festnahme ausgeschrieben.

Date of assignment: December 8, 1937, facts of the case: following a teleprint message sent by the State Police in Oppeln, document no. 21801 of December 7, 1837-II A 9090/37/1857) investigations were made with regard to the residence of the stated person; January 16, 1939: the case is closed.
An extract from the files of the Secret State Police in Düsseldorf bears the comment: On February 7, 1939, for unknown reasons, marked as applicable for imprisonment.
