Port Huron Twp.- Betty C. Newberry, 58, formerly of Jeddo died, died early Monday, April 30, 2001, in her home in Port Huron Township. Betty was born to Neuman and Mabel Oliver on Jan. 8 1943, in Thunderwood, Ind. She married Donald H. Newberry Sr. on Oct. 27, 1962. She was employed by Wal-Mart in Fort Gratiot in the jewelry department. She is survived by her father, Neuman Oliver of Port Huron, her children, Donald Newberry Jr. of Jeddo, Terry and Catherine (Schmitz) Newberry of Holly, Douglas and Christine (Zobl) Newberry of St. Clair, Tracy and Duane Graven of Port Huron, Patti Newberry of Jeddo, her grandchildren, Heather, Karen, Cory, Collin, Amanda, Alexander, and Justin, her sister, Jennie and Tom Lapine of Port Huron, Wanda and Joe VanTroostenberghe of Florida, and Pat and Orv Shagena of Fort Gratiot Township, her brothers, Bill and Rosie Oliver of Port Huron, Bob and Rose Oliver of Port Huron, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and her mother Mabel. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2001 in Jeddo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Emerson Arntz, pastor of Jeddo United Methodist Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty`s memory to Blue Water Hospice, Visiting Nurse Association, or Jeddo United Methodist Church.
