Jerold Glenn "Jerry" Buhrman, 67, Smithsburg, died unexpectedly Monday July 14 at his home. He was the husband of Anna Mae Fauble Buhrman.

Born in Waynesboro, PA on July 12, 1947 he was a son of the late Theodore Favorite and Helen Willard Buhrman. He was a member of the Mt. Bethel Methodist Church in Foxville; was a 1966 graduate of Middletown High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Maryland.

Jerry's love for his children and granddaughters was endless. He enjoyed the experience of watching them grow as much as he loved looking upon the endless stars. They were his life.

Every aspect of the earth was appealing to him but working off the land was his favorite. Spending time at the farm,, growing potatoes and helping with gardening were all things he loved. Growing potatoes was his passion. He loved watching them grow, harvesting them with his family, and visiting with everyone who came to buy them as well as those who came to help harvest.
He was a philosopher of life: Take what happens, deal with it, and move on. He was a lover of astronomy and with his passing he would hope God would let him tour the universe.

Surviving, besides his wife, are: 2 sons - Scott Theodore Buhrman and wife Doris; Eric Jerold Buhrman and wife Michelle; 3 granddaughters - Rachelle Nicole Buhrman, Michelle Lynn Buhrman, Kayleigh McKenzie Buhrman - all of Smithsburg
2 brothers - Donald Buhrman and wife Dianna - Westminster and Robert Buhrman and wife Karen - Ithaca, New York;
Sister-in-law - Laureda McIntyre and husband Joe - Smithsburg; Brothers-in-law - Harry Fauble and wife Debbie - Winchester, VA and Arthur Fauble and wife Diane - Walkersville.

A viewing will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday July 17 from the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Foxville. Funeral services and interment will be private only.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
