Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe and Nancy Thompson Browning.
Mrs. Crum was a loving and devoted mother. She was a very active member of Providence United Methodist Church in Kemptown, a member of the church choir and the Women's Society and was also a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Crum and her late husband opened their home as foster parents to many area children. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Frederick and a former member of the Damascus Travel Club.
Surviving are two children, Evelyn Diane Moxley and husband, "Tim," of Monrovia, and C. Wayne Crum and wife, Sue Ellen, also of Monrovia; five grandchildren, Michael Dwayne Moxley and wife, Jacquie, of Manchester, Anita Dawn Moxley of Germantown, Kelly Jolene Haynes and husband, Jason, of Frederick, Amy Odessa Crum of Frederick, and Jessica Anne Crum Boring and husband, Devin, of Gulfport, Miss.; one great-grandson, Michael D. Moxley Jr. of Florida; and one brother, E. Lynwood Browning of Mount Airy.
Mrs. Crum was preceded in death by three brothers, William Browning, Hanford Browning and James Browning; and two sisters, Algie Runkles Staley and Louise Hudgins.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Molesworth-Williams, P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Providence United Methodist Church, 3716 Kemptown Church Road, Monrovia. The Rev. Donna L. Renn will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
