Frederick Jacob Byrod, was a Patriot in the Revolutionary War from Pennsylvania. Frederick served as a Private for 23 months from 1776 through 1777. He served under Captain Petrie guarding prisoners at Lancaster. Also serving under Captain Skyles and Captain Jacob Weaver. Frederick marched to Germantown under Captain Jacob Krug where the Patriots were attacked by the British 6 Oct 1777 and Frederick was wounded on the right shoulder. He then served under Captain John Ewing and Captain Welbrecht in Lancaster. He was married to Christiana Braun and raised their children; Christiana, Anna Marie, Jacob, Catherine, Margretta, Rosanna, John, Sarah, George, Elizabeth, Frederick and John. For the remainder of Frederick's years he owned a small farm in the borough of Elizabethtown in the County of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was elected the first Burgess of Elizabethtown in 1828.
