HIGBEE, Ruthann Kathryn (nee Tucker), age 86, a life-long resident of Mount Clemens, Michigan passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Church of Christ Care Center, Clinton Township, MI with her guardian angels at her side. She was born on September 3, 1928 in Mt. Clemens to the late Charles Alfred and Clara Alice (nee Forton) Tucker. She was united in marriage to James W. Higbee, Sr. on June 30, 1972 for 39 wonderful loving years.

Ruthann graduated from St. Mary High School in 1946. She went to work at Michigan Bell Telephone Company where she retired in 1976 after 30 years of service and remained a member of the Pioneers Club. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed playing euchre and bingo. Ruthann was a lifetime member at St. Louis Catholic Church in Clinton Twp.

Ruthann is survived by step-children Jean (Jeff) Rick, Patricia (Bill) DeWitt, Nancy Brady, and Bruce Higbee, grandchildren Jason DeWitt, Kendra DeWitt, Elizabeth Gregory, Megan Freeman, Christina Rick, Jessica Rick, and her great-granddaughter Eva Marie. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews Chuck Horan, Patrick Horan, Nancy Rathbun, Laura Tucker, Norma Kas, Tom Tucker, and Bob Tucker and many loving friends as well.

She was predeceased by her husband James in May, 2011, stepson James Higbee, Jr., brother Norman (Eleanor) Tucker, sister Jane (Pat) Horan, and niece Natalie Tucker.

Visitation Monday, May 11, 2015 from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. with a Rosary Service at 4:00p.m. in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:00a.m. (instate 9:30a.m.) at St. Louis Catholic Church, 24415 Crocker Blvd., Clinton Twp. with the Rev. Fr. Larry Pettke, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery East, Clinton Twp. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Vincent DePaul Society. Guests may bring a non-perishable food item to the funeral home in memory of Ruthann to be donated to the food pantry. Share memories with the family at www.vickfuneralhome.com.
