Married Nancy Pendleton Boatwright on 14 Feb 1845 in Giles County, Tennessee.
To this union were born 15 children: Ervin Thomas, James Polk, John Daniel, Franklin Pierce, Margaret Hester, Sarah Catherine, Jesse B., Reece Jones, Alonzo Durwood, William Edgar, Lowry Lee, Cordelia Washington and three unnamed infant sons.

--Esq. Jesse Fry died the 27th of consumption, aged 70. He has long been a useful and honored citizen, and was justice many years before the war. He was a devoted Christian gentleman. He leaves a large family and circle of friends. His son Lonnie Fry is lying very low with typhoid fever with only slight hopes of recovery. He was attending Goodman's Commercial College where he was when he was taken. He was brought home three weeks ago. He is a young of much promise. Will E. Fry, another son, was telegraphed for to Louisiana where he was an operator. He arrived after his father's death.
