Santa Fe--Mr. Leon Clifford Jorstad Sr. passed from this life Tuesday afternoon in Texas City.
Born February 13, 1915, in Greenwood, Wisconsin, Mr. Jorstad had been a resident of Galveston County since 1945. He had been employed as a painter at American Oil Company for 31 years before retiring in 1977, served his country in the US Army during WWII, was a member of VFW Post 5400 and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela, sons, Norman Stine and Buddy Jorstad Jr., daughter, Pat LaVergne.
Survivors include his daughters, Mildred "Micki" LeFleur of Galveston, Lois "Bootsie" LeGros and her husband, A. J. Jr., of Alvin and Doris Nidiffer and her husband, Jim, of Santa Fe; brother, Harvey Jorstad, of Pueblo, Colorado; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a. m. Friday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409)925-3501.
