Robin Ann Adorno, 42, passed away June 28, 2004, at her home, after a lengthy illness.

Robin was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, grew up in Samoa, Hawaii, Nigeria, Nepal, Sudan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. She graduated from high school in Spain; received her Associate of Arts in Germany, Bachelor of Arts at UT Austin, and Master of Applied Geography at SWTSU, San Marcos. She worked two years each in Cairo, Egypt; Guangzhou, China; Ottawa, Canada, before settling in Austin in 1992.

Robin was presently a GIS Coordinator for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Survivors include her life partner, Steve Beard; her parents, William and Vonda Lee Adorno; brother, Justin Adorno; sister, Noel Adorno, all of Austin; and her grandmother, Charlotte Smith of Lakeland, Florida.

Robin had myriad interests and friends everywhere and continued her worldwide travels. She did major treks in the Himalayas, was on swimming, soccer, and tennis teams; and enjoyed camping, juggling, windsurfing, biking, art. She ran in races internationally, including the Athens Marathon; but she particularly enjoyed the Central Texas triathlons. Her two dogs, LiLi and China, were a special part of her life.

The memorial celebration will be held Sunday, July 25, 2004, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Hancock Recreation center, 811 East 41st St., Austin, TX, (512) 453-7765.
