He was born in Yoakum, Texas. He served in the Marine Corps and later the Air Force where he was stationed in Korea, France, Japan and Germany. He retired from the Air Force in 1969. He also was employed as a Fingerprint Specialist with the City of Austin and retired in 1988. Ken was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the area lakes and Texas coast.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Tommie Fred Hogan and Linnie Chambers.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sigrid Hogan; son, Manfred Rottler, his wife Melanie, and their children Nicole and Brandon, of Dallas, TX; and his daughter, Cristina Day, her husband David, and their children Kyle and Conner, of Manor, TX; his brother, Tommie Hogan and wife Gail of Victoria, TX; step-brother, Curtis Martin and wife Liz of Arkansas; step-sisters, Dorothy Frost and husband Matt, of Lago Vista, TX; Bonnie Rife and husband Jim, of Plano, TX; numerous niece, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at North Austin Hospital and A-Med Community Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. A memorial will be held in the spring, to scatter his ashes at the place he loved best in this world, Port Aransas, TX.
