He was born in Farrandsville, Pennsylvania, on February 5, 1914, the son of Frederick and Barbara Jacoby Englert.
He married Juanita E. Brinkman on July 31, 1959, in Danville. She passed away March 20, 1990.
He is survived by: six daughters, Sally (Everett) Powell of Danville, Betty (Frank) Doan of Danville, Nancy (Tony) Melecosky of Westville, Meadow (Dewayne) Black of Lafayette, Ind., Mary (Leon) Anderson of Danville and Susan Spicer of Danville; two sons, Harry L. "Butch) Englert of Georgetown and Mark (Nancy) Hamm of Danville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, and one grandchild.
He retired from the VA in February of 1973. He was a member of Oaklawn Improvement and Abundant Life Tabernacle Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Barrick & Son Guardain Chapel; Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home; Burial: Spring Hill Cemetery, with full military rites by American Legion Post 210; Officiating: Rev. James Ford.
