William F. "Bill" Rutherford, age 75, died peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice on Friday, June 22, 2007, after a four-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1932, to the late William U. and Jessica (Ritchie) Rutherford. Bill graduated from Manitowoc High School in 1950 and graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton, in 1955. Bill worked as a chemist for several companies and then proceeded to sales of chemicals to the paper and plastics industry. He married Sandra Weber Krueger on Oct. 5, 1985. They enjoyed many years together golfing, going to Packer games, traveling to see the grandchildren and attending sports events. Bill's favorite pastime was fishing Lake Michigan and the friends they had at their travel trailer while in Two Rivers and Kewaunee.

Bill is survived by his wife: Sandy; sons: William (Susan) Rutherford III, Peoria, Ariz., and Jack Rutherford, Blaine, Minn.; and his daughter, Kristine Rutherford, Hudson, Wis. He is also survived by seven step-children: John (Lori) Krueger, Hilbert, Paul (Kerri) Krueger, Hilbert, Jim (Lisa) Krueger, Hilbert, Mike Krueger, Sherwood, Sue (Stan) Zdanovec, Appleton, Kay (Ron) Biese, Chilton, and Mary Jo (Bob) Parkins, Appleton; grandchildren: Katie, Ben and Amber Rutherford; step-grandchildren: Amber, Aubree and Zach Zdanovec, Whitney, Ashley and Kyle Krueger, Nick and Paige Krueger, Brooklyn, Taylor, Brandon and Blake Biese, Kira, Kolton, Kody and Karson Krueger, Lauren and Stephanie Parkins, Megan and Kirsten White; a sister: Sarah (Sally) Anderson, and brother-in-law: Robin Anderson, Manitowoc; mother-in-law: Lorraine Weber, Appleton; many other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Kathy Rutherford; father-in-law, Hillard Weber; sister and brother-in-law: Joe and Charlotte Weakland.

Visitation will be at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, on Monday, June 25, 2007, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A Christian Burial Service will be provided at 7:30 p.m. by Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara, MDiv,BCC. Burial will be on June 26, 2007, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hilbert. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Ebben, Dr. Janelle Cooper, Franciscan Care & Rehabilitation, especially Unit 2, and Cherry Meadows Hospice and their staffs for their care and support.
