Death Of Thomas Brooks Mills
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in the nation mourns the death of Honorable Thomas Brooks Mills of Superior, Wis., who died suddenly at Clearwater, Florida
Wednesday of this week.
Affiliating with the Elks in 1887 as a member of Milwaukee Lodge No. 46, he became a charter member of Superior Lodge in 1898, and served as exalted ruler that year. His ability and his keen interest in fraternal life made him an outstanding member of the order and he was elected and served as grand exalted ruler during the years 1912-1913....
He was a native of Wisconsin, born in Jackson county seventy-two years ago, and he had served as state senator for the counties of Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield, Sawyer, Washburn, Burnett and Iron. The north owes much to Mr. Mills who was instrumental in locating a Normal school at Superior, and also in establishing a state fish hatchery there....
