“Roberts-Fanning Nuptials”
At the home of the bride’s parents north of Rolfe, on Wednesday, June 10, occurred the marriage of Miss Vinnie M. Roberts to Mr. George R. Fanning of Nemaha, Iowa. At eleven o’clock, as the wedding march was being played by Mrs. Joe Roberts, the couple took their places, and in the presence of the group of attending relatives the Rev. W. E. Ellison of Nemaha read the ring ceremony. The bride was attired in a dress of chiang blue canton crepe and bridal bouquet was a corsage of roses. The groom wore a suit of grey. at 11:30 the three-course wedding breakfast was served by Mrs. Joe Roberts and Miss Flossie Roberts.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Roberts and has grown to womanhood in the West Bend township community. She is a talented young woman of very pleasing appearance. In addition to the training of a Christian home she has been a successful teacher in the normal training school at Estherville, Ia. She has been active in church and social life. The groom has grown to manhood in Delaware township, Sue county, where he has been engaged in farming and stock raising for several years. His habits of industry and the many evidences of Christian character have won for him the respect of many friends.
After their return from the wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Fanning will make their home on a farm three miles north of Nemaha, where Mr. Fanning has been located for the past year or more. The congratulations and best wishes of their many friends attend them as their home is establised.
In addition to bride’s immediate relatives, Mrs. E. S. Fanning and Miss Doris Fanning of Nemaha were present for the ceremony.”

“Vinnie Mae Fanning, 90, formerly of 700 35th St., Marion died Friday evening in Northbrook Care Center.
She was born 29 March 29, 1895, at Rolfe. She had taught elementary school. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Humboldt and was affiliated with the Marion Christian Church, Marion.
Survivors include a son, Verle of Cedar, Minn.; a stepson Lowell of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Velma Lawrence of Marion; a sister, Gladys Fanning of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services; 1:30 p.m. Monday, Marion Christian Church, by the Rev. James Warren. There will be no visitation. Baxter memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be held in Humboldt (sic) at a later date. A memorial for the Marion Christian Church has been established.”
