Son of the late Doyle & Chloe Melvin Chinn, he was born in Wurtland, KY. He died at the SOMC Hospice Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran in the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He is survives by a daughter and a son, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, a brother & special friend. He was preceded in death in 2000, by his wife, Rosalie Chinn, a son in 1997 and two brothers. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston, with Jeff Chinn, Miles Ferguson and Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with military honors by James Dickey Post American Legion. Visitation will be Monday 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 to 11 a.m. at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
