Joseph L. Colburn, age 85, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at O.S.U. Medical Center. Retired funeral director with Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service after 50 years. Graduate of Cleveland College of Mortuary Science. Veteran of WWII, Member of Easton Community United Methodist Church, New England Lodge F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine and their Dixieland Band, Local #103 American Federation of Musicians, Northland Kiwanis, and Benjamin Franklin Chapter of SAR. Survivied by his wife of 62 years, Katherine; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph L. (Cindi) Colburn, David L. (Nancy) Colburn, and Andrew (Becky) Colburn, daughter Julia Colburn; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3 2009 at the Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 East State Street, Columbus, Ohio where friends may call on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Rev. Jay Alexander officiating. Interment at Kingwood Memorial Park. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to the Aladdin Shrine Dixieland Band, 3850 Stelzer Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
