EFFIE V. BRUBAKER Mrs. Effie V. Brubaker, 95, of Carson Valley, Duncansville, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, 1994, at Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born April 5, 1899, in Gortner, Md., the daughter of Charles and Harriet (Saunders) Wamsley. She married Alfred G. Brubaker on Feb. 26, 1921, in Cumberland, Md. He died Sept. 30, 1979.

Mrs. Brubaker was the oldest member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. She had been employed as a teacher in Garret County, Md., prior to her marriage. Mrs. Brubaker sang in quartets at the church, was a solist and active in the women's work of the church.

Surviving are two daughters: Ellen Mitchell of Carson Valley and Miriam Mellon of McMurray; three sons: Ronald of Bellefonte, Galen of Safford, Ariz., and John of Altoona; a brother Seymore of Cumberland, Md., 20 grand children; 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand children. A son, Glen died March 3, 1994.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Altoona Mirror, August 10, 1994
