Levi was the son of Humphrey M & Mary Ann (Beckwith) Huffman.

Obituary:

" News of the suicide of Levi Huffman, a son of H. Huffman, southwest of Bassett, was received here last Friday, the tragedy occurring at the home shortly after noon. The deceased had been in a demented condition for some time, and although the manner of his death was a great shock to the family, it was not altogether unexpected, he having previously attempted to take his life, a year or so ago.

He was 42 years old and is survived by his father and one brother, besides a host of relatives, who will mourn his death.

The funeral was held at Bassett on Sunday, Rev. France of the Congregational church officiating.

A large crowd gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to his memory, and the remains were taken to Beckwith cemetery and laid beside those of his mother and sister who had gone before.

R. Huffman and family, W. Smith and wife and George Huffman and wife were among those from here who attended the funeral of Levi Huffman Jr. at Bassett last Sunday."
