French hero of the Seven Years War in America and Knight of Saint-Louis.

A native of Pont Saint-Esprit, in the French region of Languedoc, he joined the King's army in November 1722. He received his ensign commission on March 22, 1724. A year and a half later, precisely on October 8, 1725, he was promoted lieutenant. He became captain on May 8, 1734, and major, on July 8, 1753.

On the eve of his departure for Canada, on March 1, 1755, he was elevated to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and put in charge of the Second Battalion of the "Régiment de Guyenne". At the battle of the Plains of Abraham, in the city of Québec, he was the commanding officer of the "Régiment de Guyenne" and of the left wing of General Montcalm's forces . He was killed in action and buried in this battlefield. He had received his Cross of Saint-Louis on April 1, 1746.
