Mrs. Stafford dies 9 days after crash

Terre Haute, Ind. - Barbara D. Stafford, 61, of Linton, Ind., died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Union Hospital of injuries suffered Feb. 1 in an auto accident.
Her husband, Leo L. Stafford, formerly of Mishawaka, was pronounced dead on arrival at Union Hospital after the accident that occurred on Indiana 54, about a mile east of Linton, according to Indiana State Police.
Police said the Stafford car was collided head-on with an auto that was attempting to pass a third car.
Mrs. Stafford was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Linton. On May 21, 1974, she married Mr. Stafford.
Survivors include by a daughter, Honey L. Poole of Indianapolis; four stepdaughters, Connie Garrabrant of Osceola, Renee Koontz and Cynthia Fenimore both of South Bend, and Angela K. Stafford; a son Jackie L. Perry of Linton; four stepsons, Dennis and Leo Jr., both of South Bend, and Timothy and Robert, both of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and her mother, Hazel Miller of Linton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Anderson-Pointdexter Funeral Home, Linton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Linton.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Friday until the services in the funeral home.
Mrs. Stafford was a charter member of the auxiliary to Greene County Eagles 4134 and was a member of the Frank Courtney American Legion post auxiliary and Women of the Moose Chapter 19, all of Linton.
