He succeeded with songs such as "El Emigrante," "La Primera Comunión" and "De Polizón" in a career that spanned over 60 years. He also appeared in a few films including "El Emigrante" (1960), "La Niña del Patio" (1967) and "El Padre Coplillas" (1968). He was married to singer Dolores Abril.
