~~~Aunt Anne was my mother's best friend and a wonderful "Aunt" to me always.~~~
I am in the process of getting information on my wonderful Aunt's records. Ann Higgins was my mother best friend for over 65 years.She was a beloved daughter and sister. As well as a beloved Aunt to her own biological nieces and nephews. They started school together and were friends from that time on.She was my Mom's maid of honor when my Mom and Dad married. Aunt Ann shared many holidays with her, and we always had a dual celebration for her and my moms birthdays. Aunt Ann never did find the right man to marry and smart lady that she was she remained single. I guess her feelings were "better to be alone than wish you were." She was a good and faithful servant to Our lord, went to mass daily and left her church and the missionaries a good deal of money when she passed. She also left money for the Helen Keller School for the Blind and St. Jude's Hospital for children.She was a warm, loving, compassionate friend, and could not have been more of a blood relative than if she was blood.MY MOTHER CONSIDERED HER A SISTER. My mother adored her and she in turn returned her love in full measure. I remember she always brought me white chocolate easter Bunnies, because I guess when I was younger I was allergic to dark chocolate, thank God I grew out of that allergy. LOL. She was at every important event throughout my parents, my Moms family and then my family's celebrations. She was always on the list to come, in the top ten.I did not find out about her death until I called to tell her of my fathers passing in April 2005. My Aunt had suffered a stroke and was cared for by her loving sister Sally Branht, who sadly enough passed a year later. I guess when more and more family are over in Paradise, you get a little itchy to make the journey yourself. Sally suffered a heart attack in March of 2006. She was a lovely woman and would like to remember her as well here on FAG. As soon as I have more info I will add Sally. Aunt Ann thank you for everything you did for me all through my growing years. You were a wonderful Aunt and I want you to be remembered.
